F-55 Chrome Mist Inhibitor
I. Product Features:
F-55 chromium mist suppressant is a fluorocarbon surfactant product that does not contain PFOS‑based compounds prohibited under international regulations. During chrome electroplating, it exhibits excellent high‑temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, and long‑term electrolytic stability. It reduces the surface tension of the plating bath and enhances dispersion, thereby effectively improving current efficiency and increasing the adhesion and hardness of the chromium coating. Additionally, it lowers chromic acid concentration, inhibits the volatilization of chromium mist, improves the working environment in the electroplating workshop, and helps reduce costs.
II. Product Characteristics:
F-55 chromium mist inhibitor appears as a white or slightly yellowish solid powder; it is non-toxic, harmless, non-corrosive, and neither flammable nor explosive, with stable product performance.
III. Instructions for Use:
The recommended initial addition to the electrolytic cell is 0.04–0.08 g/L. For first-time use, increase the dosage slightly to bring the solvent into a supersaturated state; thereafter, replenish in portions according to the rate of foam consumption. (Each time, dissolve the additive in hot water above 80°C and then add it to the electrolytic cell.)
When using, be sure to apply the inhibitor at an excess dosage—specifically, after the plating bath surface is fully covered with foam following the addition of the chromium‑mist suppressant, increase the dose by another 20–30% to maintain a continuous excess. Over time, the foam will gradually diminish, leaving voids (areas without foam) on the bath surface; at this point, replenish with F‑55 chromium‑mist suppressant, adding 30% of the original dose. Repeat this cycle as needed.
